Strasburg Lady Rams top Central, 41-30.

The Strasburg and Central girls basketball teams may have thought games were won by turnovers and fouls Tuesday night, Dec. 2, in Woodstock.

There were 24 fouls and 20 turnovers by both teams in the first half alone and only 31 points combined by both teams in the first half as the Lady Rams (1-0, 0-0) went to the locker room with a 16-15 lead at the half.

Strasburg opened the third quarter with 5 unanswered points and outscored the Falcons (0-2, 0-0) 12-6 in the quarter. The team never looked back, cruising to the 41-30 win.

Junior center Jenna Smoot scored 12 of her game-high 16 points in the second half to lead the Rams. Jacyln Ayers and Bethany Doman chipped in with 10 and 6 points, respectively.

The Falcons were led by guards Kelsey Bowman and Ashley Jenigan with 10 points each. Lauren Heishman added 5 points for the Falcons.
