The Strasburg Lady Rams used a strong first half behind Jaclyn Ayres, Bethany Doman, and Jenna Smoot to defeat Wilson Memorial 66-43 in the Region B quarterfinals at Strasburg Tuesday night. Ayres scored 21 first half points and Doman and Smoot scored 9 each as the Rams raced out to a 39-21 lead at the half.
The Green Hornets(14-10) cut the lead to 11 points in the third quarter, but the Rams turned up the defensive pressure holding the Hornets to 22 second half points.
The Hornets were led by Miriah Taylor and Dinah Jones with 9 points each. Meg Emerson chipped in with 8 points.
The Rams(20-4) was led by Ayres with 27 points. Doman and Smoot added 17 and 14, respectively.
NOTE: Strasburg played in the Regional semi-finals at Amherst Thursday and lost to Randolph Henry 51-40. The Rams finished there season with a 20-5 record.
